Make a Book

One-on-One Accordion Bookmaking Workshop Using Upcycled Materials

Learn the timeless craft of bookbinding in a hands-on, personalized workshop designed to inspire and empower you.

In this 4-hour, private accordion bookmaking session, you'll explore the beauty of upcycled materials while learning to create a meaningful, functional work of art—a handbound book where every page is a pocket waiting to be filled.

Workshop Overview

What you’ll learn:
This workshop teaches you how to make an accordion-style book using upcycled envelopes as the base for your pages. Each envelope transforms into a pocket page, perfect for keepsakes, photos, notes, or creative journaling. You’ll also learn how to:

  • Construct the accordion spine
  • Select and assemble reclaimed materials
  • Bind your book using beginner-friendly techniques
  • Add personal touches and embellishments
  • Adapt the method for future projects

By the end of your session, you’ll take home:

  1. A finished, functional book you created by hand
  2. The knowledge to make more books on your own
  3. A new appreciation for your creative potential
